HOW TO USE THE WOOD IN THE INTERIOR (part 2)
COZY INTERIOR WITH WOODEN FURNITURE
Antique wooden furniture
Despite the fact that significant progress is now being made in the furniture industry, products made from non-natural materials significantly lose wood furniture.
Wooden furniture is environmentally friendly, beautiful, neat, has a pleasant smell. In addition, choosing furniture, you can play with a variety of shades and colors, as the facades are painted at the request of the client in the desired color. Such furniture is also durable, and with proper use can last about fifty years. Although the paint may peel and crack over time, even such a flaw can be corrected, for example, by decorating furniture using decoupage technique.
The tree blends perfectly with modern styles. In fashionable metal hi-tech, wooden furniture painted in appropriate shades of the interior will effectively take its place of honor.
But perhaps the most extraordinary manifestations of the tree can be observed in accessories. In this case, you can embody all your imagination and skill. To create an original composition you will need a stump or twig. There are lots of interesting ideas for making wooden home accessories.
Some modern designers prefer free space from bulky cabinets and chests of drawers. An original and at the same time budgetary decision can be a wooden clothes hanger. The basis will be a large, dry, fancifully shaped branch of any tree you like. Be sure to treat the branch with special impregnation from pests, fungus and mold. Then the product must be painted in the desired color or varnished.
An interesting fastening option is proposed – a branch is mounted on both sides of the protruding walls painted in a similar color to steel supports. If the thickness of the branch allows, then it is used as a hanger for a coat hanger with clothes. Holes for hangers are drilled in a thicker branch. Hooks for clothes made of wood will ideally complement such a bookcase. They are easy to make from a long branch with side knots. To do this, the branch is cut into several small parts, 15–20 cm long. They will be that necessary element. As in the first case, the branches are covered with special antiseptic impregnation.
To avoid the formation of puffs on clothing, the knots are sanded and varnished. The branches are nailed with small nails to the main branch.
You can also make a coffee table from wood. To do this, you need an old strong driftwood or tree trunk of an unusual shape. In order for the future table to be stable, the wooden blank must be in contact with the floor, at least three points. Driftwood or trunk should be treated with an antiseptic. Then you should make a decorative finish of the product – painting or varnishing in several layers. And it remains to fix the glass top. This process involves several methods:
Fix the tabletop with a special transparent glue. However, this method has a significant drawback – due to the porosity of the tree, even coated with varnish, air bubbles may form inside.
Fixing the countertop with screws is a more reliable, but at the same time laborious way. Drill a hole in the countertop. The glass should be laid on a flat surface, on the one hand it is not necessary to drill completely, but to continue drilling on the other hand. Such actions will prevent a split countertop.
The panel looks pretty elegant as a decorative wall decoration. For the performance of such finishing work, special skills are not needed; this is an occupation for everyone. The trunk or branches of a tree are cut into rings – the basis for the decor. As in previous cases, they are treated with an antiseptic, painted or coated with several layers of varnish. From the finished rings, the panel is laid out on the wall. You can also randomly arrange it on cardboard, put it in a frame under glass, and you get a wonderful picture of your own production.
As you can see, creative products and accessories for the interior can be made of wood, because this noble natural material will always be a trend in a fashionable interior.
